John is a Partner in our Planning Team since 1993. Bringing to the firm expertise and experience acquired in a legal career which commenced in 1976.
John has deep experience in assisting clients in complex redevelopment proposals and has been successful in obtaining approvals for some of the largest development projects in Victoria and appears regularly as an advocate in all town planning jurisdictions.
John is a fellow of VPELA, a former President of the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA), the former chair of the UDIA planning committee.
John routinely is recognised by his peers for excellence in his fields of practice and has now for several years been awarded and commended (since 2017) in Doyle’s Guide and The Best Lawyers in Australia, in the practice areas of Land Use and Zoning Law and Planning and Environmental Law. John has also been recognised as “Lawyer of the Year” in Land Use and Zoning in Melbourne in Best Lawyers in Australia awards in 2023 and 2027.
